Seriously?

Wow...seriously? It's been that long? I've only done one  post this year? Dang..I be a busy person! That, or lazy! :) Yea...so what to post about? The upcoming mass of students going back to school? The current economy crisis and how it's effecting the company I work for? Or how about the time I got sick for a full week and didn't go to work? That was pretty recent. First time ever I did that! My daughter came down w/ a fever one friday afternoon. It pretty much lasted on and off that whole weekend. Sunday afternoon I started in w/ the fever. But mine never really left until the following Wednesday night. It blew hardcore! I had a up and down fever and constant headache. And this wasn't a normal headache..this was some big on top of the head hurts so bad you would rather give birth to a child again than go through this type of headache. Yea...I could barely eat. Just stuck to water and powerade. One day a twinkie looked pretty good to me, so I snacked on that. Another day I forced myself to eat noodles. Finally went to the doc on Wed and tested negative for strep and the flu..though the doc said my tonsils were looking pretty raw and doesn't my throat hurt? No sir, says I. I just have this fever and constant headache. And yes, I had been taking medicine. I was popping 800 motrins like they were going outta style since sunday afternoon. He told me to take 1000mg tylenol for the headache and if the fever persisted for 2 more days, come back in and we will start running tests on my blood. Thank goodness it went away later on that night. And just when I think i'm ready to go back to work on Thursday, my son tells me he has had a headache all day long and we get home and he has a fever. Niiiiice. Lucky for him though, his lasts only 24 hours. I didn't feel 100% normal until that Friday. Man, I never want to go through that again!! So yea, my week of consisted of sleeping like a zombie in a coma induced state, sweating on and off but not because I was hot, drinking water and powerade, driving to drop and pick up my kids from summer camp, and feeling like a huge hammer was hitting me on the head 24/7. I did not do JACK around my place. So yea, my paycheck for that week pretty much sucked. Thank goodness work let me "borrow" against my vacation that I get again in December.

Wow, one long paragraph, eh? Yea, I should have done some sentence/paragraph structure in that one. Oh well. I just feel like rambling and rambling. But for now i'm going to go and see what else I can occupy my time with. Oh i'm totally hooked on FB's Kingdoms of Camelot game. Ack!! Gotta build my city up! LOL!

The Boondock Saints II

If you haven't seen it....GO SEE IT! It is DA BOMB!!! I love the brothers! This movie was some serious kicking behind action! Loved it!!! I need to go and watch the first one now to get it fresh in my mind. I also love how it was shot in Boston! :)

Re-cap of Thanksgiving

So it's been a few days since i've posted. Just wanted to say a little bit about Thanksgiving. It was great! Wonderful food and good memories w/ family! I ended up staying the night before Thanksgiving to help my mom cook. Oh my, we did a lot! I learned alot as well! I know the secret to her famous Lumpia (filipino eggrolls)...

You will never get it out of me!! Muuhahahhaha! That was fun! I think I rolled almost 100 of them! We fried them up the next morning to have throughout the day. Man, my mom makes the best!

And in the middle of doing that, I went a little loopy. :())

LOL! I was all about eating the lumpia wrapper. That's my son, Cameron, on the phone w/ my sister who lives in VEGAS. Oh how I love Vegas! It's the best city in the world! Well, lets say the continental united states, since I haven't been too many international cities. :)  We also made another filipino yummy, Puto. Yea, I know, looks and sounds almost like that one bad spanish word, but no, it's Puto..basically a rice cake. They are my favorite filipino dessert.                             

My mom put some shredded cheese on top, just for a little kick. I'll have to experiment when I get a steamer and cook them myself. Alot of food pics in this post, I know. But I was excited about finally learning how to make all these different dishes!

Oh see, this is the lumpia after we fried it. I know, it's a beautiful sight. Grown men have begged for this..they have cried over it in despair when the last one was eaten. LOL!

So all in all, good times! I had 4.5 days off from work and it was so wonderful. The kids and I spent ALOT of quality time together. :)

What a weekend...

Not only did I watch this movie once, but I went and saw it TWO times! LOLOL

It was awesome! I even got a New Moon t-shirt for me and 2 girlfriends. Yea, we decided to go all out w/ the shirts! I got this one that says Vampire Girl on it.

Isn't that neat!?? Of course, i'm on Team Edward..duh! But I did walk out of the theater liking Jacob a whole lot better!! I saw it for the first time on Friday afternoon. Then Sat I took to the kids to go see it, but it was sold out..we watched Planet 51 instead. They enjoyed it. Sunday we went back and was able to watch New Moon. How wonderful! :) What a really good weekend. I'm such a Twlight dork, I know. But I can't help it!! That was pretty much the highlight of the weekend! Besides that, spent time w/ the kids. :)

So I came home last night to find a whole bunch of stuff that I got for free in my mailbox! Holy moly! LOL! Here's what I got! Okkkkkay, scratch that..here's not what I got picture. Just went i'm on a roll, the computer decides to go nutso on me when it comes to uploading my pic. It's a small pic!!! I'll try again later.
But I received a free t-shirt that I designed myself from Marlboro..yes, yes, I did quit smoking, but I did this before, back in the day..it was free! This week's Business Week magazine, a free sample of Aveeno Shampoo and Conditioner, a recipe booklet from Carnation, and a free sample of a men's cologne that my son loves. Shoot, what is it called. Swiss brand. It's ayt.  Speaking of free stuff. I have been  a member of  this website, Inbox Dollars, for a few years now! It doesn't even take but 1 minute of my time. They send me emails, I click on the link, I get paid money. Sure, it's a small amount, but it's good enough for me. You can even take surveys and shop through the website. Just a small way to earn a little bit of cash for all of those small things you want. :)

What a busy weekend!

Yup, Chuck E. Cheese baby! LOL! Had a birthday party there, so the kids and I went and played games. Good times! After that we went to our local co-op electric company's annual voting of board members or something like that. They give a free appliance for people who come and vote..:) Can I say Electric Griddle?! Oh yea! Haven't had one before so I was excited to get one for free!!! And all I had to do was vote for some dudes. Afterwards the kids and I went  up to their school to watch The Polar Express in 3-D. Granted, they ran out of 3-D glasses, then got more, but when I tried mine on I found that it was way better to watch the movie w/o the glasses! *shaking my head* It was so cute. All the kids dressed up in their pj's and brought blankets and pillows! Oh, like this. :)

 

And THEN, we were all winners in the raffle they had after the movie! I won this!

Cocoa, chocolate, shortbread cookies, marshmallows, cool coffee cup...it was nice! The rest of the weekend was spent watching Twilight w/ some good friends in anticipation to this Friday's NEW MOON!!! Oh man, we can't wait!! Yes, I have read the Twilight series and love it! I'm def on Team Edward. :)

So surprisingly yummy!

So last night was Cub Scout night. Which meant we had dinner w/ dad. So nice of him! One of the closest places to the Cub Scout meeting location was Mc Donalds. Fast and easy, right? Do you know what I had for the very first time? This!

OMG, the parfait thingy was soooooo good! And really, i'm not a healthy conscious  food eater. I don't like veggies..I don't eat alot of fruits..etc... so this healthy food item is amazing good! I'm going to get that alot now!!! Yea, i'm a dork. I know it. :)

TGIF!

Soooo happy that Friday is once again here! So my little man was so happy to wear his new John Deere shirt we picked up at the Fair last weekend. Hahaha, he's so cute!

Always talking about how other kids at school have them and he wanted one. I remember how it used to be...the need/want to fit in. Oh and not to be outdone, one of my most fav pics from the fair, little fairy Lexi. :)Love those kids!

So this weekend I am going to sit around the house and catch up on two weeks of my favorite tv shows. I started last night...Flash Foward. Good epi's. This weekend i'll catch up on Sons of Anarchy, Star Gate Universe, Sanctuary, Dexter, oh and I have all of season 2 of House to watch as well. :) The kids and I have no pending activities for the weekend. Thank goodness! So tv catching it is!! Of course it will be broken up w/ outside jaunts and playtime. Until next time...I have to go and pull a report. Take care!

Sometimes Twitter can be annoying...

Normally I love my Twittering! Just being able to say what i'm doing/thinking, etc...it's a great thing. But then my love for Twittering goes down the toilet when I get mass Twits (from just ONE person). I love Donnie Wahlberg. Oh yes, I do. I grew up on NKOTB...my dad is from Boston, we love all things Boston! But the man can get on a twittering run and send out 10 in a row! Then I am forced to disable the tweets. As the day goes by..I start to slowly miss him. By 5:30pm I have to turn him back on.
